Seat Track question

I just replaced my seat track as the old one was broken and missing pretty much everything. My question is does anyone know how far back the seat should go? If I remember correctly before I replaced the seat track I feel like i was able to move the seat back a little more and I am not sure if that was due to it being broken or if i am not doing something right with the new one. I am not a tall guy and I feel like my face is smashed against the windshield. The back window to the back of the seat is about 4 1/2 inches. I attached some pics (sorry not the best) Pic 1 is obvious, Pic 2 is top view and Pic 3 is side view to gas tank.

It should glide back further than that ,Check to see if it's latching in the last key way slot in the tracks . I had a 67 flip seat in a few days ago welding in headrest supports and the top of the seat frame was almost up against the cab with 1/2" space in the last position .

I just double checked and its definitely in the last spot. Any other suggestions? There is definitely room to go back in the cab but the seat track is all the way back... i'm stumped

I think there are 3 types of seat tracks for 3 types of seat, not sure you can bolt a wrong set up or not, were the "new" tracks the same as the old ones? I will find the thread that shows pics of the track types

Thanks! I saw this thread and I definitely have the correct one for my 69. I don't have the old one as the guy who did my upholstery installed the new bracket however I did double check everything and it is installed correctly. I am thinking that this maybe another "flawless" part from LMC truck. I did notice that they break the seat tracks by year 69-70 and 71-72. I have noticed that a lot of their parts do not fit the same. I drove it last night for the first time with the new seat installed and I definitely feel like I am sitting taller and closer to the steering wheel. I know he also replaced the foam in the seat but I wouldn't think it would cause me to sit that much higher and closer. I am not really sure what to do at this point but it does bug me so I need to do something. Hopefully someone can lead me in the right direction. Thanks guys!

Good seat foam will make a big diffference in sitting higher and forward. Your seat back should be about 1finger width from the back of the cab...I know this because my wife puts her had back there and when I push back it smashes her fingers...

Aftermarket seat foam is junk ,over priced and sits too high , Rebuild your original seat foam.

I actually don't mind the new seat foam, big improvement from the old one. . What about the aftermarket seat track, Are they not the same as the original?

Now that I am thinking more about it, is it possible that they could have installed the seat back to forward? It seems like it it was titled back a little it would just give me that much more room. I cant remember how the seat back was originally. Any thoughts?

There's only one position for the seat back to bolt in in a non flip seat , There is a small amount of adjustment on the flip seat back , I think what your feeling is the difference in the old foam to the new .

I just talked to my buddy who did the upholstery and he said that he noticed the seat tracks were different (not sure why he didn't tell me that in the first place) so it appears I need a 67-68 seat bracket and I can't seem to find anywhere that sells them. All I can say is the PO has definitely made this project an adventure for me. I am trying to get it ready for paint and it seems everything I touch is not as simple as it should be. and i don't even smoke.
