only in this stupid state

I stopped by an inspection station yesterday to see what the minimum ground clearance was on a dropped vehicle. I was told not more than two inches up or down from original specs. do any of your states have such a stupid law. He said they changed the law because of the rice burners scraping the pavement. I guess it air bag time. who has reasonable air bag setups. How come the vendors say a complete kit and then tell you to buy a compressor and tank. whats up with that. the kit should include everything. any help will be appreciated. thank,s biglou55.

I think with all the cars from the manufacturers today that they would have a hard time trying to enforce that issue...

wisconsin -> no emissions in almost all counties, and you only have to be higher than the lower lip of your rim

Hey biglou55, go down to Holyoke or Springfield to get it inspected. That's your best best. Another thing, I think that most inspection stations have regulations on newer vehicle, not our year vehicles (their books might not go back that far). Good luck. I'm going to lower my '71 and will need to find a place that will let me slide.

I would take a good look around and see if enforcement practices match the standards that you were advised of. If you see a lot of lowered and raised vehicles it is likely that enforcement is somewhat lax like many are. It is likely that their manuals do not go back as far as your truck. If you dont do anything too radical it may reduce the chances that they will scrutinize your vehicle. Good Luck !!!
