Anyone have these?

And what do they contain? Are they worth the money? Do they really contain all the repair information?

JMO - If you own a 67-72, you need this manual.

Thumbs up

I'd suggest getting one. It has chassis info, torque specs, and wiring diagrams. I've used mine quite a bit.

I have the '71 it is invaluable. I picked it up for about 15 bucks. Mine is an original print. I know you can buy reprints for $25.

You can see some of the diagrams, pics I have scaned at:

I bought a 1968 Chassis Service Manual from 68 Suburban about a month ago. I don't see how anyone could not have one after looking through this thing. It is packed full of great information.

I am also looking for an original print on a 1970 model as well, if anyone has one that they want to part with.

BTW - 68 Suburban is a great guy to do business with!!!

I purchased an official 68 GMC factory service manual and thought it was better than the Chevy. The GMC only covered the 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton trucks, unlike the chevy which goes up to 2 or 3 ton commercial. I have just purchased an official GMC parts book (760 pages) for $80.

That manual is awesome. I have it, the assembly sheets and a Haynes for my 68. The service manual's the one I use the most.

Thanks for the input guys, and thanks for answering the poll. It's cool because a lot of people are more willing to answer a poll than post a reply!

Thanks for that feature, Josh!

I'll be picking up some of the manuals...

Check ebay for new reprints and old original manuals. I picked up an original 1966 C10 service manual for my brother-in-law for $15 including shipping. There are always 67-72 manuals on there. Just make sure you check what the going rate for the manuals are so you don't overpay.

If you have a truck the service manual is necessary. It is my first choice for keeping a truck on the road. I think the assembly manual is a better choice for putting one together or taking it apart, but it is for all the years and body types, so is a one time purchase.

Just a tip from a guy who bought a reprint.I bought one in the plastic wrap and did not open it until I got home two days later(I was at a show several hours drive away from home). It would be very useful IF IT WAS A DECENT REPRINT!!! Unfortunately the printwork is of such poor quality that it is nearly useless in some cases, so check it out before you buy.

Deland,

That sucks that you got a bad copy. But like so much of these parts, there is only one authorized source for the reprints.

I understand some one now has a copy of the manuals on CD. It also include copies of the original sales lit too.

Any one have a source for them??

lol @ Shane. As for the manuals, I got the '69 and also an original owner's manual from Chevy Duty. It is an excellent buy, I'd suggest it to anyone.

I have two of them for my '67. An original that is with my other '67 advertisements, books etc., and a reprint that I'm not afraid to get dirty. My reprint is good quality. I have seen these offered on CD ROM also.
