newb help with tranny please!
Hey guys--Finally pulled the pan on my 700r4, the tranny's been slipping and sticking lately and a few boardmembers suggested changing the fluid/filter. This is the first time I've ever done ANYTHING to a tranny, so I was wondering what I need to look at/look for now that I've got the pan off. Should I clean anything? Anything I can easily inspect for dirt, or tighten up, besides just changing the filter/fluid?? Or anyone have any good links on tranny tune-up/maintenance??? I have NO clue what the H-E-double-hockeysticks I'm doing, so any help would be great!
BTW, love the new board!! RainDog

If it has been quite a few miles since the last chage, you may want to drop the pan again in about 500 miles and change the fluid & filter. You are only changing about 4 quarts and most trannys hold 18+ quarts.
What does the fluid look like that is in it now? Red, very brown, black?

Changing the fluid might help but I would have the TV cable looked at for the right adjustment
