The way my mirrors are mounted on my 69 (just bought the truck) they are effectively blocking the wing window from opening more than 2" outward. Anyone find the "best" mirrors which allow both sight for the passenger side and the wings to open?

I bought a set with the passenger side being a convex design. Mounted them according to the dimensions from the truck manual. I have no prob seeing the side of my truck. I did mount the mirror as high as possible. No problem with interference with the wing vent. Guess I got lucky

I did it once, but memory fails. Any trick to mounting the mirror? Getting the mounting plate in there is a buggar. Bet it’s a 2-man job. Thanks

I too put the sport style mirrors on mine, passenger side being the convex type, and am very happy with them. No problem seeing the blind spot. With the interior door panel taken off and and an extra set of hands (my wife) it was a simple install. Here is the diagram I followed:
