what rotor/caliper do I use with these CPP spindles?
I want to clean up behind these bigger wheels I'm fixin to put on my '72, so I'm thinking about using the Wilwood D52 calipers, hawk pads and whatever rotors will work with these spindles. I cant find the paperwork when I bought them but I think they are the CPP 2.5 drop spindles (not the modular) Am i right? .....and also, I want to be able to use the 15 wheels I have on it now from time to time....so what am I looking for?

And here my friends is why you want to use a product that uses parts store factory parts.
- I'm sure you can buy them from CPP.

Re: what rotor/caliper do I use with these CPP spindles?
CPP spindles use proprietary rotors/caliper??? My ECC units use standard off the shelf parts for the application they were purchased for.
Shocker! -klb

Careful with these...
CP4S4 fits 1973-87 C-10 2” drop $239/pr http://www.classicperform.com/NewPro...opSpindles.htm Ball joints and tie rod ends may have different tapers... CPP correct part number for 71-72 is CP4S3 fits 1971-72 C-10 2” drop $239/pr |

Re: what rotor/caliper do I use with these CPP spindles?
It just means someone changed the ball joints and tie rod end to match the larger tapers on the later setups...
They use factory calipers and disc / hub units...if this is a normal driver...stick with stock parts and save the dollars... Juts make sure you change those rubber brake hoses ! |

Re: what rotor/caliper do I use with these CPP spindles?
Good. OP, you're in the same boat as me then... Just purchase rotors and calipers and/or pads for the 71+ model year and they'll bolt right up.
Just like they should ( 40 bucks a side for the rotors and cheap for the rest too ). -klb

Re: what rotor/caliper do I use with these CPP spindles?
Just go to any parts house or online and order the parts for a chevy truck, any year between 1971 and 1987.
Example: 1976 Chevy 1/2 ton truck with a v8 2 wheel drive. That will pull up the correct set of brake parts for your setup ( rotors/pads/calipers/bearings/races ). The choices will be there from the lowest price ( about 40 bucks for a rotor ) all the way up to drilled and slotted, painted hat types for more dollar. You can purchase the standard/stock caliper for cheap or go get the Wilwood equivalent for a bit more, but the parts house year/make/model remains the same: 1976 chevy 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive truck. Typically it will not come up but, if asked, you want the Heavy Duty version which equates to the 1 and a half inch thick rotors. Hth, -klb

Not raw steel. I've had good luck with SSBC. Stainless Steel Brake Company. But for a driver, parts store rotors, with some high heat paint work just fine. Don't get caught up in all the drilled and slotted stuff, unless you're going with big brakes and calipers. All those little drilled holes just rust.

You could do zinc plated calipers. This one is from phoenix brake company in Chicago. Here is a pic of their work.
