1968 swb step , bagged " super green builder "

hey guys first of all let me say thankyou for letting me in the group here , very awesome the way you guys keep it under control , so i have searched this forum ALOT .. and i usually find my answer , so i ordered my driveshaft and i have a little clearance issue i know i can fix it , just want to do it right the first time ... cutting the cab seems like a pretty big deal .. so any advice will help..

So your question is you have a slammed truck and need to cut the cab to make the driveline work?

wow , i had no idea so many questions get asked until today .. maybe i should have saved my question for a better one .. my goodness . anyway heres what im working on i wouldnt call it slammed but i suppose it is ..

im getting my drive shaft in today but im pretty sure the back of the cab is going to need to be cut a little for clearance as well as the crossbrace that the drive shaft goes thru

If it needs to be cut, use a small body saw or a jig saw. Something you can have control over easily. It will never be seen unless the bed is off the truck.

mel, you've done some nice work so far.

If you don't want to cut the cab you could put in a 2-piece drive shaft. I think I saw a 2-piece rebuilt for sale on here in the for sale threads. I'm not sure which is best, but I see it done both ways.

I think I would explore this option over cutting the cab if it were my truck -- just need the carrier and half shaft assemblies from a LWB and trim the rear half shaft to fit your truck
