Re: best tire size for stock rims 72 3500

Yo guys...Im new around here...what up!!! i got 2 gmc's...1970 1500 lwb custom and i just pick'd up a 1972 8.5 lwb(longhorn sorta) 3500 camper special from the original owner a month ago that has 4 different size tires on them .
So my question is ...whats the original tire size for this (8 lug 16 inch rims )1 ton? the rims are different front and rear .Fronts are meant only for the fronts the rears are wider deeper and meant only for for the rears at least thats what orig owner said.
Any input would be great.
I cant upload a pic to my trucks

Re: best tire size for stock rims

235/75R15 XL will fit good, hold up well and ride nice. 215/75R15 is kind of lightweight for a truck that might haul stuff or pull a small trailer.

Re: best tire size for stock rims

I run Dunlop Rover P225 75 15's on my stock 68. I think they are LT tires. It's getting harder and harder to find LT truck tires for 15 inch rims. The Dunlop Rover was about the only LT tire I could find that was available in the size I wanted.

Re: best tire size for stock rims

I have a set of Goodyear wranglers on my 2013 f150. I hate the hum that they make when I am driving. I have a 1972 Chevy c10 that's needs tires. Is that hum as noticeable on you guys Chevy's?
