Gas fumes in cab

All of the sudden (when season changed from cold to warm) I can smell gas in the cab??? - Any ideas what the problem could be?

Re: Gas fumes in cab

Rubber fill hose from fill tube to tank. Probably need to replace the hose & clamps. Pain in the tail, but that normally fixes the problem. The hose is around $6-8

Re: Gas fumes in cab

Or could be leaking at the cap and running back inside cab past body seal, or sending unit gasket is leaking very slightly...

Re: Gas fumes in cab

seeing as it has warmed up and the gas has expanded you may not be venting from the cap and fumes are coming from hose or elsewhere where the fumes are capable from leaking.

I had the same issue. Replaced the filler hose. Found a "hairline crack" less than an inch long. Amazing how such a small opening could let so much in gas fumes into the cab.

Re: Gas fumes in cab

Seal the sending unit screw threads on the tank as well, that is where mine was leaking.
