i don't believe the later switch will fit in the housing, just replace with stock if you can buy one

gm didn't change a lot of color codes over the years, start with this
new is 8 wires including horn and hazard, stock is 6 wires; didn't have hazard and the horn wire is separate
hookup white to the brake light switch and purple to the flasher power
lt blue and dk blue are the front turn signals, yellow is lr stop/turn
that pretty much leaves the pink and green wire for the rr stop/turn
