another exhaust question

Has anyone tried the inserts that go inside the collector, instead of mufflers?

You mean those things circle track racer use with open headers? That would be pretty loud and the headers would be open right under the seat and you may get gassed. You'd be better off with large exhaust piping and 2 chamber Flowmasters or similar race muffler.

These things go into your header collector, You run a regular exhaust system without mufflers, these are supposed to quiet the system down. I don't know anyone that has ever tried them. I have seen them in the Performance catalogs for street use..
