My 1955 2nd Series

So I joined this site on August 16th after having my truck about a week. Bought it in running driving shape and thought things were ok when I drove it to work. Noticed some white smoke at idle and thought I could hear a tick. Drove it to a shop I knew of near work and had heard good stuff about and hoped it wouldn’t be a big deal and I’d be back on the road soon.

Not a huge problem but needed attention that I thought was better done right then wrong...and then the slippery slope begins...I have read a few of these builds and I think I may suffer from a lack of self control. Pray for patience.

What could have been a small fix I have stretched into a slowish smallish project that is nearing done now 4+ months later...this isn’t been a deadline project so I didn’t care how long things took.

Work completed includes:
Engine valve job and overall cleaning of engine with black and red Chevy valve cover kit
New complete wiring harness throughout
Cleaning and painting engine compartment, replacing all hoses and fittings
Holly Carb rebuild
Transmission rebuild
Relocating floor shifter position and swap to a 23” double bend shift rod
Replacing flooring with sound deadner, insulation and new rubber floor
Fabricating base mount and installing 2015 Suburban 3rd row seats (inspired from builds on this site)
Replacing damaged interior and exterior door hardware
Adding door armrests
Swapping to electric wipers from original

There was more I am sure I have left out, but today I was back in the truck with it running and sounding great. A few things left and I am ready to roll. The shop owner has been great to work with doing all of the above. When it gets home mid next week I have a plan for swapping in a billet grill I completed last month and some new rubber on the wheels as well as a bit of other minor stuff (stereo, headliner, tonneau cover).

Hope the pictures load.
