Scarebird web site 6 lug dis brake kit

Here what they said u get from them = I attached the install guide -
I attached the install guide -
we supply:
1960-70: SOC brackets (2), Ύ-16 x 1” shaved head bolts (1960-63 uses 5/8” bolt) (2), ½-20 x 3” HHCS (4), ½” nuts (4), ½” L/W (4), 2 Chieftain spacers, 2 Indian spacers, 2 Metric banjo bolts, 2 Cotter pins, 2 Hose clips.... 1960-63 & 1964-70 Chevrolet, GMC ½ ton 2WD Pickup
1. Crack front wheel nuts loose, chock up rear wheels. Jack up front end of truck, support outer
control arms with jackstands. Remove front wheels, drum/hub assembly. Put a few drops of
penetrant oil, such as AeroKroil on brakeline nuts where they screw into rubber lines.
2. Disconnect brake flexible line at frame by unscrewing hardline nut with flare wrench, then
removing clip. Undo and remove drum retaining bolts. Remove drum backing plate, hose and all
drum hardware in one assembly. Clean off spindle assembly well.
3. Place adapter plate over spindle with caliper bolt retaining nut welds facing inward, and caliper
opening to the rear. Attach caliper temporarily to bracket to check fitment, making sure it clears
sways bars, etc. If good, remove caliper. Make sure no dirt is lodged between spindle and plate,
especially the lower area. Put 1-2 drops of thread locker fluid only on threads of the upper bolts,
then tighten bolts to 50 ft-lbs. Be cautious when tightening up the top bolt as it is shaved for
clearance and some sockets have a large entry taper, open end wrench is best here.

4. Insert small bearing sleeve into the outer bearing with the flange to the outside of the bearing as
shown in illustration. Clean and pack wheel bearings. Install new seal. Put inner bearing spacer
on spindle – inner chamfer will face inboard. If loose, use a few drops of LockTite to retain.
Assemble rotor onto spindle, slide supplied outer bearing sleeve into A3 bearing, place in rotor,
place tanged washer and tighten outer nut to spec, then secure with keeper, new cotter pin and
dustcap.
5. Wipe down rotor with alcohol, lacquer thinner or other cleaner.
6. Wash hands! Rotor and pads must be squeaky clean.
7. Insert caliper pads into calipers (pads are the same application as the calipers). We recommend
the softest street pads. Slide caliper assembly into bracket with bleed screws on top. Tighten
caliper bolts to 35 foot-pounds. Check fitment and rotate rotor to check clearance. Test fit wheel
to verify caliper clearance. Some wheels will require the corner to be rounded as shown in third
picture. Install flex lines as shown from above; hose goes horizontal from the caliper and then
down to the hardline. Cycle steering back and forth to verify hose clearance. 1964 -1966 trucks
had 7/16” hard lines will require either new custom flex lines or using Weatherhead 7828 or
Edelmann 258430 fittings to adapt specified brake line. 1967-70 adapters will not be required.
8. Master cylinder and proportioning valve specs are quite varied. The stock drum masters will work
fine. Early 70’s disc master cylinder are the best performance match available in both power and
manual flavors, but the outlet sizes and sides may not fit. The stock drum masters have the same
bore as disc, and if they do not have a residual pressure valve should work fine. Plumb in an
adjustable proportion valve in the line going to the rear cylinders, or use a disc proportioning valve
if rears suffer from excessive lockup in panic stops.
9. Bench bleed disc master cylinder. Mount MC on car, then gravity bleed entire system first to
eliminate most of the air, then pump bleed and test, otherwise your distribution block may jam
from a pressure imbalance. Another method is to use a pneumatic vacuum bleeder, they work
quite well and are worth the $30. Both Harbor freight and Griot’s Garage carry them.
10.Attach wheels, install lug nuts, lower car and torque nuts to spec. Test drive carefully- no hard
stops, a series of 30 smooth stops from 30 mph, with a 30 second cooling period between stops
will bed in the pads properly. Let cool for an hour after finished bedding. Retorque lugnuts.
