Vent Window Division Bar

I ordered some new division bars for repairing the vent windows. Did I misunderstand the parts intention? I thought they were inserts to the existing vent window frame once you cleaned out the old felt, glue, etc. Instead, it looks like you are supposed to measure for and drill holes, and then re-attach the vent window brackets and door retaining brackets with rivets. If so, that's not what I wanted. I just wanted a good kit to redo the felts and keep the window snug.

It sounds like you bought the vent window repair rubber, which is forward the division bar but you wanted the felt that is installed aft the division bar and keeps the larger door glass tight. Is that correct?

It's actually a steel bar with felt inserted into it. Like this:

I looked at that link to classic parts and to the lower right on that page you will find the relining felt you are looking for. Click on it and see if that's what you need.

I think you are correct. That would be more what I'm looking for.

Side note, the instructions all the vent window threads here link to for disassembling the door are spot on. It wasn't hard at all following that info to get it all apart. Hope it goes back together just as easily when the time comes.
