Emergency brake cable slipping

I installed a new ebrake on my 67 gmc and notice the pull lever going back further each time I used it. Then I noticed the cable had moved almost an inch from where I installed it. The cable clamp was all the way down and tight. It’s possible I did not install the cable in the correct position but at this point I have no reference to go by. Does anyone have a picture of how the cable should be clamped down? Thanks.
