Try adjusting the modulator valve. I know they say it only increases or decreases it a couple of mph. But with mine I got it shifting out of 1st from 15 to 30. I still need to adjust it I turned mine in all the way and I guess it was all the way out almost. It hits a lot harder going into second. One more thing I noticed is that it raised the shift points and the rpm range. For mine to shift it has to be around 26-30mph @ about 3,000 rpm. I have a transgo Shift kit in my used "rebuilt" th400 that I picked up. I was told it was rebuilt but Im not so sure of that, it works but not like it would if it had been rebuilt.
