KDP (killer dowl pin) mod was done. For anyone who knows anything about these 12 valves is they will run forever, providing the dowl pin doesn’t fall out and destroy everything. I made this myself (25 minutes of work) or you can buy the kit for $80.

Motor is getting there, I’m gonna get it running and make sure there isn’t any leaks or anything before I paint it. New air filter fits like a glove. I’ll hit up the hardware store tomorrow and grab some metric bolts and NPT plugs to finish some things up. I’m not a big fan of the felpro blue rubbers so I’ll have to track down some black ones to change them out.

Man!! Cleaning the old paint and crap off these injector lines was a pain. Took me about 2 hours to clean this set. Still got more to go plus another set of 3.

Building an old truck is 70% cleaning/stripping all the paint and old crap off of the stuff your re using.

Yes I too have been guilty of not providing feedback to other builds, but it's what we do I guess. Continue on with the updates we are all watching.

Back at it guys, took some time off for a winter vacation. My wife and I took a Caribbean cruise for our honey moon. It was a blast. The motor is completely back together ready for the first fire. Just need some fluids. I had to notch the front rail to clear the AC compressor. CanÂ’t wait to hear this thing run.

Motor runs good, fired right up after priming the lines. It’s kinda on the back burner for now. I picked up a new blower kit for my Lincoln so I’ll be working on getting it ready for the summer for now.

Last summer I had a crazy brain fart and sold my blower set-up to only find out that I needed it back lol. I ditched the 2” blower spacer and added a shorty crank trigger distributor. Can’t wait to get it back running.

thanks man, when i started this build i could have just called some major companies and had them ship me all the parts i wanted. but i didn't want another truck at the show that was just a bolt together high dollar truck. i wanted something i can say i built and I'm proud of. sure when i part ways with it, it won't be worth what a full Porter built chassis or whatever is, but at least i can say i did it myself with the tools i own. I've learned a lot and i keep learning from this build. can't wait to keep going on it.

hey guys, still plugging away on this rusty junker... my lincoln has had me wrapped up doing shows this summer but im still picking away at the truck, I've got most of the drivers side floors all welded in, last month i bought a 2WD 2000 sierra 1500, why? i don't know, it was a good deal so now i have a 5.3 with a 2WD 4L60E trans which will be good for another project. also in the truck was a cherry set of SS silverado seats that im going to use in the C10. they aren't my first choice for seats but they are very comfortable, all power and heated so ill learn to like them. once this cab is done i can put it back on the chassis and get to building the rest of the truck.

So no mods to the firewall or anything to get the Cummins in there? I am having the idea of doing this to a K20 of the same style. I had read that they are a bit long and require some fab work to the firewall.

This is how low the tank will be when aired out. There’s still a good 5” there so I don’t think it will be a problem.

Just found your build and read through it. Very cool truck!! Chassis looks awesome, and the engine work, kick a$$!

I have to say, seeing it laid out on transits is something else.

Looking forward to the updates.

I got my batteries hooked up, I’ve never ran two before so this was a first for me. They are hooked in parallel so positive to positive and negative to negative will give me a 12 Volt system with double the amps. Used mainly for starting the old Cummins. In reality I don’t think I needed the two since I won’t be doing any winter driving with it. I got these terminal clamps from summit and turns out I was able to run a 3/8” all thread through one to the other. Worked out great I think, I am missing the main cable to starter in the picture. I’m keeping it off until I wire the truck.

I needed to run a return line to my tank, I was scratching my head for a few weeks on this one but ended up drilling a hole beside the main fuel line and put in a NPT bulk head fitting with a 90 then a NPT-Inverted flare fitting. Bent up some lines and boom it looks almost like GM did it 60 yeas ago, also I forgot to order fuel tank straps and with the shipping delays today I had to get crafty so I used my seat belts I had ordered for my bench seat. I must say they do look pretty decent back there

Now I’m working on the gauges. I cut out the middle of my old cluster but left enough meat to drill a few holes and use screws to hold on a plate with my gauges in them. I was going to order a few more gauges to fill up the space but buying gauges for no reason is expensive. I think I’ll run a couple toggle switches I’ll need to fill up space. This is by no means a show truck so little chrome toggle switches on the dash won’t bug me. I like to watch the gauges and control the fans and temp myself.
