Re: 1968 Custom Camper Duramax

Sorry to see about the trans housing and I've been there on the murder scene oops before. Nice score on the 1st gen and the crew cab square body will be way better with that power train in there!

Re: 1968 Custom Camper Duramax

So its been awhile. I enjoyed driving the Dodge around a little, when one of my Mopar buddies found out what I had planed for the first gen, he about had a heart attack and bought it from me. Don't worry Ryan, I found a replacement engine, more about that later. Now, being without a truck that can pull a trailer, I had to kick it into high gear to get this thing road worthy. Got the trans back in but added a brace to prevent future breakage. Also installed a cooler at the same time.

Re: 1968 Custom Camper Duramax

A few things going on in the first picture. Fixed the angle on the shocks, painted the axle, installed a polished aluminum diff cover, got one for the front to. I think these covers are a great deal at around $60 each from Amazon. Especially compared to the $200+ for a fabricated cover, sure its not as strong, but I think it fits the look of the truck.

After a few months of looking for a van column, broke down bought a new tilt column. Ill have to take an install photo, but I still need to make a bezel for the gauge cluster.
