Fuel Sending Unit Swap

Can someone give me a step by step of how to change out a fuel sending unit in a 1968 1/2 ton. Tank is behind the seat.

Thanks

You don't say why you want to change it out. You may want to trouble shoot the system first, as bad grounds have a way of rearing thier ugly heads in guages. Check your grounds and do a continuity test on the fuel pump wiring first, then, as best I recall, knock the ring around the sending unit CCW until it is free. Then lift the sending unit and float out of the tank. Sunk floats are replaceable/repairable. Good luck, oh, and NO while doing this.
