Re: Blazers and Jimmys With Hickey Accessories
Sandtrap - Man your Blazer looks right. You must have known I'd chime in on this! I don't have pics handy at the moment, but I have the following:
- Front and rear diff covers. But not the ordinary stuff - 14 bolt rear and Dana 60 front (part #222027 for 14-bolt cover, Dana 60 cover is custom made) - Transfer case skid plate (part #223003) - Sidewinder winch (part #113007) - Roll bar (part #224002) - 2 Bedside steps (part #115001) - Roof rack (part #225013) - Interior over wheel well auxiliary gas tank (passenger side) (part# 227001) - High capacity gas tank (part#227005) - Sponge vinyl foam steering wheel and adapter kit (part#110005 & 220001) - Swing-away spare tire rack (part# 225001) I used to run a set of the 8-lug 16.5" Super Mags (part# 118004), but got rid of them when 16.5" tires became scarce. Not Hickey items, but I also have the following period correct add-ons: - Eagle Ventures low profile fiberglass hood - Slider windows for hardtop - Dual Unity A-pillar spotlights - "Smash Hit" brush guard - "Blazer" model 4 Wheel Pop-up Camper |

Re: Blazers and Jimmys With Hickey Accessories
So there was a license plate frame for sale last week in LA. I thought it was reproduced because it was plastic on top and bottom with hickey logo vs pot metal lettering. Contacted seller and he has large collection swears it’s real.

Re: Blazers and Jimmys With Hickey Accessories
Nothing equal to your collection but I have the following HE parts installed:
1. Tow hooks 2. T-case skid plate 3. Gas tank skid plate 4. Exterior spare tire rack with jerry can holder 5. Front and rear differential covers I also have a set of Hickey steps that I am restoring and I just picked up a roof rack off of EBay. Neither of these accessories are installed on my Jimmy yet. My roll bar isn't Hickey but its thickness is somehow comforting. |

Re: Blazers and Jimmys With Hickey Accessories
I don't think it is. I believe all the Hickey hitches were chromed, mine was. And it was just a simple square hoop that did not protrude.
This is the only picture of a '72 base trim I had on the computer. This is how it say when I bought it. It had the roll bar, auxiliary tanks, tire/can mount, hitch, transfer case and gas tank skid plates, steel locking console and axle trusses. It wasn't all Hickey, though. Another company I don't see peple getting excited about that is harder to find parts from was Desert Dynamics who sold most of the same stuff Hickey had made for them. On the glovebox door was a desert dynamics sticker, so I assume some pieces were from them. It came out of New Mexico, but the people came east to Virginia and enjoyed Assateaque Island with it. It had a couple beach vehicle permits on the front bumper. That salty sand did it's work on that thing. I bought in '84 and the lower front corners had already rusted same as the local ones did. In fact, less than some. My '71 I had at the same time had no rust, but it lived a sheltered life

Re: Blazers and Jimmys With Hickey Accessories
I think this is a Hickey hitch. Here is a picture of one from the 1971-1972 catalog that looks identical to me.

That's the style mine had. This picture is the day we pulled it out of the barn 5-1/2 years ago.

Re: Blazers and Jimmys With Hickey Accessories
Latest score from a 72 blazer. Like new-ish! Console, saddle tanks, swinging tire carrier(minus one bracket) and brush guard. Best part was found a guy on Craigslist hailed them for $100 from Texas
