Re: Lets hear your exhaust

At WOT, my truck's tire squealing will drown out the exhaust. Can I just feather into it until I'm rolling good? Where do you want the sound recorded from? I can maybe tape my cell phone to the dash so it doesn't wind up in the bed when I nail it. My wife freaks out if I take off fast in the truck. It's nothing like my old Skylark GS, though.

Re: Lets hear your exhaust

I don't know how to post videos. I have never had success attaching from my folders. I guess it's a file too big thing or maybe it takes so long it times out. So I always put them on P-bucket to post here. But now that's a no go. What's the secret?

I have some videos that give examples of how my truck sounds. Only problem is, I did the exhaust in '04 and don't recall which Flowmasters I used. That, and they are so aged now they probably sound way different from new.

Re: Lets hear your exhaust

It is easiest to sign up for a youtube account, and upload the videos to youtube. Then post a link to your youtube video here. If you don't want to get comments on your youtube video, you can turn off the comments for the video in youtube. Here's an example link used in a forum post about side marker lights (not engine sound, sorry). https://youtu.be/BZ6gb4F1ByA

^ informative

saw this thread last night so on our way back from barber shop I recorded a couple with my cell phone laying in the seat

not sure what is what in the background or what mufflers are under there, but exhaust is audible

Here's a video of how you DON'T want your truck to sound like.

I was trying to show the NP 435 ratios.

Re: Lets hear your exhaust

robs71, how many times i have been down there for the nhra. at least 12 and at least 9 rained out and had stay longer to see the finals thunder in the valley. awesome place. what sucked the rain would stop and they could race but there is a heavy fine for the noise ordnance there after a certain hour. think it was 6pm. must had to do with all the amish down there. we camped down the road at red run camp grounds. awesome place down there. nothing like hearing a top fuel car whack the throttle and hear echo thru the valley. like to have come down sometime for super chevy. remember one year we stayed later for rain delay. they had almost record cold and wind. just a **** load of passes where track records where broke because of the cold. love that place

Re: Lets hear your exhaust

didn't open anything for me special-K.. do you have a youtube account? if you take video with smart phone, should be able to upload directly to youtube from the share choices..

I just left my phone in the seat, not even sure where the microphone is but it's quite a bit louder in person

so I just listened to my video on the pc.. sounds like either a bracket vibrating somewhere or a little too much advance.. or combination of both

but last 10 seconds definitely hear those 36" superlugs hummin at 60

Re: Lets hear your exhaust

I guess they only let me see it. Oh well, thought I outsmarted them... not. No smart phone, yet, doing this from pictures I already have on the laptop. I always put them on P-bucket so I could post them here since straight from folders won't work. The one I have from a start through the gears only on PB must have been from my last computer. I can right click and save pictures back to my computer but don't get a save prompt with videos. They're held hostage! I should just pay the S.O.B.s long enough to get my videos back. They did drop the cost to a sensible amount, probably after no one went for their scam.

Re: Lets hear your exhaust

I took this for the plate lol. The exhaust was a couple roached summit mufflers dumped before the rear end, I’m replacing it all now(just a 396 idling)...

Re: Lets hear your exhaust

Heres a short clip of my 72 super (don’t mind the ****ty dash bezel, its getting replaced with an NOS one this winter). I have the headers open in the video. No power shifting or anything, just put it in drive and punched it

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
