Re: Looking for Body Tool Suggestions

Quite a graphic thread here...

I'm with Joedoh. I use a Metabo 4.5" paddle grinder, with the quick change nut. E-z disc changes. It runs smooth, and is well balanced. WORTH EVERY PENNY!

I've used lots of cut off wheels, and NEVER had one explode. Use them with respect, don't let them bind. And, use a quality one. I use the Metabo slicer, and ceramic flap discs from Lehigh Valley abbrasives.

I'v been using 4-1/2" grinders for 25 years, all with the guards on.

Everybody need a tetanus shot TOO.

Re: Looking for Body Tool Suggestions

Couple other sheet metal tools I love:

Harbor Freight electric metal shears. Great for straight lines, and even radiuses. No clean-up. Really quite. No safety glasses required (though I never take mine off). It says it's good for 16 ga. If yo want to do that, buy the warranty. It will do it, but only for a while. Great on 18 ga, and smaller.

HF punch/flanger. Pretty slick. Punch works better than flanger. Great for lap welds. Oil often. They don't last forever. This is my second one...
