in bed gas filler

hi, I was wondering how difficult it would be to put a gas cap on the wheel well instead of the center of the bed, I am planning on buying the blazer style relocation tank but I don't want to cut a hole in my bed. my plan is to pit a Camaro style cap and filler in the bed and route it to the tank. another problem I would be facing in the Camaro filler is 1 and 1 half inches and the tank is 1 and 3 eights. Has anyone tried this before and how hard would the fab be?

-this is for a 72 chevy K10 long bed 4x4

Re: in bed gas filler

Go to a muffler shop and have them make up a short piece. They can probably expand a piece to the dimensions you need. Then use the appropriate size of gas hose on each end to mount the filler!

Re: in bed gas filler

My Autozone store has exhaust tubing adapters, you might be able to find the right thing there.
I didn't want the gas filler inside the bed, anticipate that I'll have a camper shell on my truck in the future so I put the filler to my 31 gallon tank in the wheel well.
