Thats just one of the ways GMC did it Longhorn Man. If you look at the year identifier letter... A means 1967.. B would mean 1968 .. and C would mean 1969.

More typical is just one number for the GVW range... your shows a 20 for the 3/4 status ..but more than not you see just a 2 for a 3/4 ton.

If you get books on how ealier vins were decoded in the 60's you'll see even more ways of decoding.

I had scanned and posted a couple ways of doing it at one time.. but not sure I even bookmarked it on the boards.
