Heater hose barb fitting necessity
I'm installing a vintage air unit into my 63 c10. Not content to do things the easy way and within my abilities I decided I liked the looks of a bulkhead instead of the plate for the firewall they provide.
I need to cut the aluminum tubes for the heater and slice rubber hose onto them to accomplish this. (I made a/c lines already) Do I need to make a bead on the tube to hold the hose on or will hose clamps be sufficient? I couldn't find anyone local with this ability, but I did find a tool for this that's barely semi reasonable, likely doesn't do well and this is likely the only time I'll ever use it.....And I'd rather not if it won't cause me to soak my interior in antifreeze one day. Pics of the tubes in question. And the bulkhead in question |

Re: Heater hose barb fitting necessity
I ran across this when I was working on another project. I didn't try it as I just flared the tubing that was working on. But this but looks easy enough. Might be something you could use.
I would use scrap piece for first trial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVDUM2ZxoW0 |
