'57 Stepside over in England
Hi
I bought a 1957 Stepside last year. New import to the UK via an importer. It is very solid and needs a bit of work/upgrades doing to it, but it is a California truck, so not much rust at all. I love these old trucks and the scene here in the UK is getting bigger. I'm new to this forum and I have been reading lots of interesting stuff on here, some great guys on here and some great advice and build logs. I'm not a trained mechanic, just an enthusiastic amateur and is learning real fast. My previous cars were a Westfield Seight (Like a Caterham or a Lotus 7) with a 3.5 Rover V8 in it. Before that I had a Ford GT40 replica, so the truck is very different. My truck Jas |

Welcome to the site and Congrats...looks like a solid truck! I love this body style. I almost bought one years ago. Not many are trained mechanics on here...just enthusiasts helping each other out.

Re: '57 Stepside over in England
Hi Guys, thanks for the welcome. I have been looking around this forum over the last few days and there is some great info. I love the build logs on here, loads of pictures and ideas to get me inspired. My truck is very solid and doesn't need much bodywork doing to it. I have been going through it to make it more reliable and nicer to drive. I am currently building an exhaust for it. It is great fun and I am learning how to weld whilst doing it.
Steve-W, I have been following your build log of your 60 Viking, that looks to be a great project, good luck with it. Jas |

Howdy, I love your truck. It’s my favorite because of the one year only grille and all the chrome appointments that were available on the top tier models. I have a ‘58 that I’ve learned to love and plan to restore to driver status. Enjoy your truck and good luck with it.
