Gas Cap Rubber Seal
Can the rubber seal be replaced on the gas cap?

I have a gasket making tool so I made new rubber for my original cap and now I get a gas smell in the cab. so I would like to hear on this as well.

I cut a gasket (with scissors) years ago from an old inner tube. I figured it'd be worth a try but expected it to decompose from the gas. It's still there and works well.The nice thing about rubber is that it can be stretched into position. Makes for a nice tight cap seal. This is for a '69 with a ventilated cap if that makes a difference. Don't see how it would though.
