My redo of a Jada Just Trucks 72 Cheyenne
I've had this guy for a couple years now and with a little left over paint from the 71 K10 Cheyenne I just restored, I figured what the heck I'll make a miniature of my C10. Plan is to paint it Hugger Orange on Saddle like my C10 shorty.

Took three applications of paint stripper and I still had to use a mini wire wheel and a grey scotch bright pad with Acetone to get all the paint off.

Re: My redo of a Jada Just Trucks 72 Cheyenne
Anyone know where I can get 1:32 scale detail stickers? I'm hoping to find stickers for the sidemarkers, the "8-350" the tail lights, "Chevrolet" tailgate banner and "Cheyenne" or "Cheyenne Super" for the fenders.

Saddle interior. This is the same paint that we used on the K10 Cheyenne's upper dash.

Done. At least for now. I might add some chrome paint to the wiper arms, wipers, door handles and lower trim. Some satin black to the lower trim too.

1/32 scale decals for vehicles are tuff to find, most modelers stick with 1/24 or 1/25, a lot of military decals for 1/32 as it's a popular scale for that media. Slixx decals has hi quality stuff (got one of their Jungle Jim decal kits) but did'nt see what your looking for. they do make custom decals though-maybe go that route. could also try UltraCal or Gofer decals, but i think you will still need to get them printed...or if you have a printer, make your own. not hard or expensive. good quality printer can be had for 50-60 clams and a couple bucks for decal paper. i find an image of what i need online, then go here to reduce it to whatever size i need..best to try find multiple images of what you need, not all images reduce to the size you may need to see very clearly http://webresizer.com/resizer/ print a copy on plain paper to make sure it will fit ok and see how it will look, then print it on decal paper. should always print a plain paper one first, it will save your decal paper if you don't like it or whatever. if your happy with it, you need to seal the ink before you use it so it don't run when you soak the decal. i use Testors Decal Bonder, but any good clear will work. also be aware, decal paper comes in white and clear. clear lets the body color thru where there is no ink, white is white and nothing shows thru. and have you tried anything from Molotow for your chrome needs? never came across any ink/paint/powder that looks more like chrome than Molotow check it out... before... after... you can get it in marker pens (1mm, 2mm, and 3mm tips) or in bulk liquid. i find the 1mm pen is perfect for doing emblems, wipers, body mouldings and i use the bulk with a fine brush for bigger stuff. |
