Factory wheels

I have a 1970 GMC C15. The previous owner put 20" wheels on it. They also put different hub adaptors on it. I am not a fan of flashy rims. Does anyone know what I would need to install to make it more closely resemble the factory look? I will try and get pictures this week when life is a little less hectic.

Do you whant factory. If so then all you need is to remove the hub adapters and get some 15x6 steel wheels and some hub caps. You can't go wrong with that set up but if you want it to look better then stock ( at least in my opinion ) get some 15x8 aftermarket rims of your choice. I never liked the donk rims on these pickups. Any larger then 15s is to big.

If I go with 15x8 rims, would I still use hub adaptors? I've never really messed with wheels much and have never messed with hubs. Do you know what size tires would be best? I would assume they were bias ply originally, so whatever the closest radial equivalent would be best.

You would not need the hub adapters anymore. They probably wherw used to run a different bolt pattern or as spacer or both. As for tire size 235/75 15s is close to stock. I run 235/70r 15s. But I whant to go up to 275/75r15s.

Plenty of wheels made for this lug pattern. They had no cause to use hub adapter unless the wheels are so gay the company didn't even bother with 5 on 5 pattern. I bet what you have are spacers for the wheels that were never meant to be on the truck, having the wrong backspace. Either way, the previous owner made a compromise to gain their "perceived" beauty over quality built using the right stuff.

I am thinking you are right in that they are spacers and not adapters. Poor choice of words on my part. I will try and snap a picture of them tonight.

If they are indeed spacers, how difficult are they to remove?

You need to post some more pictures of the hub, with the camera a little further back, and a couple more angles.

I'm with everyone else here, you likely don't need anything other than removing the wheels and the adapters/spacers. more and better pictures should tell us...

Them some ugly rims. And yep thare a spacer. Just unbolt the rims and then spacer then yout good to go. I think 1970 still had six bolt right. My 71 had 5 bolt. No need to swich it over though. Thare are plenty of rims made for the six bolt.
