69 Chevy windshield wipers

Got some rain out here in Cali so time to use the wipers. Noticed that the passenger side is barely touching the windshield when sweeping. I changed them out with a new set I had because it was time...wth is wrong that they are barely sweeping the windshield. Can’t figure it out?

Re: 69 Chevy windshield wipers

Check to see if the spring is still in the wiper arm. Or the spring is just weak, or that arm is bent. Is the arm all the way down on the shaft spline?

Put some penetrating lubricant on the wiper arms where they pivot, when you pull them away from the windshield.... Then pull them up and let them back down a few times and see if that helps.

Re: 69 Chevy windshield wipers

Okay guys I know I hadn't gotten back on the thread with regards to the wipers...but I took them off and put the wiper arms back in, greased them up, put them back on the shafts and still not making enough contact on the windshield. The springs seem to be pretty strong still in my opinion, the wipers were working great up until I changed out the blades and now both sides are seriously not making enough contact...I got caught in the rain a few days ago and was like "Whoa, I need to get the wipers fixed ASAP." Any other tips or tricks I should use?

Are you sure you have the correct arms? Posting a photo may help us.

Re: 69 Chevy windshield wipers

Maybe wrong wipers? Try Trico Classic 33-150 wipers

Wipers are correct as I purchased them from someone here on the forums and they were Terico brand you are saying. The blade bodies were metal not that cheap plastic you normally see.
