Clutch Pedal removal

Hello everyone. I changed from a 4-speed Saginaw to a TH400 automatic transmission. I removed the clutch Pedal tonight took it apart and slid it out. I tried my brakes a few times worked good. I'm sitting here now wondering if that rod holds the brake pedal in as well? Do I need to leave the rod in?

Re: Clutch Pedal removal

Yes you do need to leave it in. If you don't want the clutch pedal anymore, remove it, saw off the pivot rod, and put that piece back in the truck.

Re: Clutch Pedal removal

I used this post to figure out mine. I removed the clutch pedal/rod and never looked back. No cutting.
