1950 3600 spring eye bolt removal

Figured now was as good time to replace the loose spring eye bolts on the rear of my truck but they won’t give up with out a fight! What’s the easiest way to remove them?

do the bolts turn? if not, i'd try using a saws all and cutting between the bracket and the spring eye.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking as well if there were no other options. If they’re this hard to get out I hate to think how hard they’ll be to put in!

once they are out, clean the threads in the spring eye & the bracket. they should go in real smooth.

Threaded? This is a pic of the replacement sets arriving Monday. They’re for the rear. I saw what appeared to be a threaded set for the front, but these appear to be smooth. Hoping I ordered the right ones!

when i was a fleet mechanic we had a slide hammer that we threaded to go in the grease zerk hole
i'm sure you could cobble something together for a puller
heat won't hurt either to loosen any rust/gunk

i'm also assuming you have the tapered pin out
