Educate me: What paperwork did GM place in the glove box?

I'm curious to learn what OEM paperwork GM included in trucks for 67-72 when new. I'm sure there is some variability.

Here's what I found in the glove box of a 72 K1500 GMC
Protectoplate
Emissions brouchure
Owner manual
These docs were placed in a clear plastic bag (not shown)

Sounds right.

I would expect a document about tire warranty from the appropriate tire manufacturer as well.

Sometimes you might find something from the dealership too (like a thank you card).

Re: Educate me: What paperwork did GM place in the glove box?

This is what I still have in my glove box:
- The plastic pouch containing other items listed.
- Protect-O-Plate
- A small paper pouch (probably added by dealer) with the key "knockout"
- Dealer pouch for registration

There may have been tire info as Keith mentioned, but I'd have discarded that with the 1st replacement tires.

A don't recall any thing on emissions, but there really weren't any but the PCV on a '69 3/4 ton.

If you open up the owners manual you should find in the middle what looks to be added because it is printed on yellow paper and the pages have no page numbers, Its titled, Important information about air pollution control system, the manual I have has the pollution control system stapled between page 42-43 this is in my 1969 manual c10-30

Re: Educate me: What paperwork did GM place in the glove box?

Funny, I just took these pictures and emailed to my uncle about 20 minutes ago, came in the house and turned on this site.
This paper was/is in the glovebox of my ‘71 c20
I picked the truck up about 10 miles from the address of the dealer in the bottom left corner.

You are right! 4 pages in mine. I forgot all about them. Thanks for the reminder.

Pete- does the 72 manual have this info as well as the separate brochure?

Re: Educate me: What paperwork did GM place in the glove box?

For 1972 at least for half tons there was a separate pamphlet for emissions systems as seen here. Note how it differs from that from the GMC as shown above.

These items were in the glovebox of my blue Blazer - the owners manual I exchanged for one from a low mileage conversion RV.

Re: Educate me: What paperwork did GM place in the glove box?

There is a colored section in the middle of the 72 owners manual with pages that are not numbered dealing with safety checks.

And on page 40 GM tells you how to clean blood, urine, and vomitus from your cab. What about beer though ?

Re: Educate me: What paperwork did GM place in the glove box?

I’ve had several trucks that have had a lot of paperwork in the glove box
Typically what has been shown so far

Many times , there was receipts of work done on the truck, over the years (which I always liked because it was more clues on the truck)

I have also seen specific papers, put in by the dealer

That's quite a find. Those were supposed to be thrown away.

My '63 Grand Prix and '65 GTO reside about 9 miles from where they were built.

Here's some what I have. The build sheet was located under the seat.

What about paperwork and decal for the No-Spin rear differentials? In glove box if factory installed?

Re: Educate me: What paperwork did GM place in the glove box?

1974 Chevrolet passenger car info.

This would be from Robert Uptegraff Chevrolet in Davison Michigan. Car was built in Oshawa.

I also have Pontiac literature from 1963 and 1965 but did not post it here since it would be getting a bit removed from early 70s pickups.
