would a tailgate top repair section be marketable on here?

I've got a tailgate and it's rust free but it's had so much bondo over bondo and it looks as if someone stoped a 1000 pound boulder on the tailgate while it was down. the lower section and center (chevrolet) are straight as can be and in my 25 years of working in body shops I've seen many the same. I found a nice one for 100 bucks last month but with all the drama of life no time to drive to meet anyone, to much going on here. Anyways while I was kicking my self in the ass for missing that gate. my wife said "why don't you make one, you make everything and fix everything since we met. no one has touched our cars but the tire and alignment guy" I thought about it and I said if I make it I need to make a big so I can knock one out pretty quick because correct me if im wrong but NO 1 sells tailgate top section? right? if I can get some feed back I've got all the stuff to make a jig for the break and got my trust roper Whitney jr hole punch ( for spot welds) just got to get a pextow roller to do a nice recess on back side and can make it any length in back. lmk what ya fellas think and if its a go I'll drop all other to do's and get er done. if anyone would be interested I'll do the panels for people at around $60-70 bucks in that range so it don't kill us on the shipping. if I get the nod I'll order the dies I want for the welding section on inside tailgate so it will underlay or overlap with recess and front outside will have pre popped holes for spot welds in factory locations.

There are basically two types of buyers: The purist who accepts only OE parts in good shape, and then others who simply want to get their truck back into nice condition, and don't mind reproduction parts or patch panels.
Your buyer here is guy number two. He's going to weigh the cost of a new repop gate against buying your patch panel and doing all the work. It's a math thing.

I believe it would be. In fact it could blossom in to even more parts.

I would think more so on the “Ford Truck Forums “
If you could make it with a heated element
..... so when they are pushing their truck it would keep their hands warm

How about a Stainless topper strip like the good ol days. I have one on my daily. I bet that would sell like hot cakes.

Make both a top & bottom section, maybe offer them in 1 foot increments so they can be used as patchs or total replacements.

I would definately buy those. In the north & the east, we have 3 options; fix what you got, buy used from out west or buy repop. Very few original parts that don't need rust repair.

Yes, build it. They will come.

Stepside or fleetside? (not that it matters a whole lot...)

If you can make the entire top piece, I would say yes they would sell. I could use 1 or 2.
