What hub caps will work

When we rebuilt front end on my 1966 we had to replace the wheels because the original wheels wouldn't fit with out rubbing. I bought these from a friend and I would like to add hub caps. I can't figure out will fit them. The center opening is a little over 7" and it looks like the hub cap would snap in. Does anyone know what these wheels might have come off of and what hub caps might work in them? Thans

They look like these wheels --> https://www.hubcaphaven.com/p/499/al...d-9592558.html

Which according to the listing on that site, were originally used on:

Chevrolet Astro 2003-2005
Chevrolet Express 1500 2003-2008
Chevrolet Silverado 1500 1999-2008

However, I don't think the original center caps for those wheels are going to fit since the hubs on your truck stick out farther than the hub/bearing assemblies used on the trucks that originally had that style of wheel. Although you might be able to use the original style center caps for those wheels as a starting point and modify them to fit. Perhaps by using a hole saw to make an opening in the center large enough to clear the hub dust cap. Then see what you can find for a smaller center cap that could then be added to cover the hole and still provide clearance for the dust cap.

That's great information ray_mcavoy. Thank you. I found the center caps based on the information you provided and you're right, the dust caps are too high. I'll have to consider something along the lines you are suggesting

Re: What hub caps will work

The square body bolt on caps would probably work and look good.

Not sure what you mean Jayoldschool? Would what you are suggesting solve the dust cap height problem? Could you point me to an example?

Those look great and they look high enough in the center to clear the dust cap. Think I'll head to the junk yard this week and try to find some to test out before I order anything. Now I know what to ask for. Thank you for the help jayoldschool

Re: What hub caps will work

No problem, get the bolts that hold them on, too. You'll need to mark/drill your wheels for them.

You can probably find the size diameter of them online easily to see if they will fit.
