Anyone can buy an SWB...
Been away for a minute. Started my MTP a year ago, this truck is one of the goals along the way. Started as a bone stock BB/auto then i did a moderate resto-mod and enjoyed it for a few years. Ive been cutting and reworking a LWB chassis to get the perfect stance for this conversion.

Very nice. Suspension mods are clean.

Very nice work, how much did you section the front cross member? I like the frame mods to raise the steering box and centerlink.

Re: Anyone can buy an SWB...
Thanks. MTB is an acronym for mountain bike 😆. MTP is a massively transformative purpose. The short version: Changing your life and finding your real purpose in the time thats left. Living an examined life.

Re: Anyone can buy an SWB...
Motor/trans position is slightly higher, Output shaft is 2.8 degrees, carb surface is .1 degree off level at ride height of 5 3/8”. The BB CPP mounts were a terrible fit. Took reengineering to make them fit correctly. This and also needing the extra clearance between drag link n oil pan caused the z-bar position to change. Enjoy the Handsome bracket below !

Z-bar off a 6-cyl. Sectioned tube, made, moved & reclocked lower arm.
The throw is butter smooth and effortless. Upper pushrod is thin wall tube w/bolts welded at ends. |

Re: Anyone can buy an SWB...
Thank you Josh.
My experience with an aftermarket panel bed: i see this often on even some high end builds where the bed caps are level w/ the cabs upper bodyline and the lower bed line is 1/2 or better too high... i fixed this by sectioning the front stands and rear rail ends. The other 2 cross sills were sectioned to match. Dont know how one could live w/such a poor off the boat fit. |
