Engine stand for a big block, that fits betwen hoist legs?

I'm looking to buy a heavier engine stand that will support a big block, but it looks like most of them won't fit between the legs on a typical engine hoist. That sounds like a pain in the rear. What stand are you guys using, and how hard is it to get the engine transferred from the hoist to the stand?

Re: Engine stand for a big block, that fits betwen hoist legs?

I have the same problem with my engine hoist and engine stand. The engine stand won't quite fit square between the legs of the engine hoist. So I take the swivel head off the engine stand, bolt it to the engine, raise up the engine high enough so the base legs of the engine stand clear the hoist legs. Then slide the engine stand base onto the swivel. Then lower the whole thing at an angle the legs clear each other. Works for me.

Yeah, that seems to be pretty much the standard routine. I was just hoping to find one that made the process a little less cumbersome. Especially working alone, it's doable but not ideal.
