I finally scored a 71 K5!
Hi guys, I had to share something I have been trying to hunt down for a long time. I have wanted one of these K5's since a kid a year behind me in high school had one 25 years ago. I bought this 71 a couple days ago and have been running all over creation in it ever since. I even took it fishing as I figured that would be a great adventure and it was. Managed to get wicked sunburn on my left arm from all the time it spent on the door frame cruising around. It's rusty and crusty but it runs perfect and everything works. Glad to be here and I can't wait to get busy making things better on it. I ordered some 33"s for it since the tires that are on it are dated 1995, hahaha! Thanks guys!

Welcome to the K5 club! Great buy. What are your plans for the Blazer?

Re: I finally scored a 71 K5!
Thanks DeadheadNM! Short term, I am going to drive it for the rest of this summer. I do need to change that passenger fender as its bent enough to effect the passenger door opening. Thankfully the truck came with 2 really clean front fenders from Wyoming and a tailgate out of Arizona. Once it gets cold here the tentative plan is to order rockers, rocker boxes etc etc and work on getting those installed. Once I get that taken care of I was thinking of working on interior/seats. Long term would be semi restored driver we can have fun with in the spring/summer/fall.

Yeah! Welcome to the Blazer club - nice truck. Agree to drive it for a bit, enjoy it and then tinker as you go. I've tried to do get things safe & reliable and then work on cosmetic, mods, etc. Enjoy!
