Re: 250 P/S help

Yes, please post pics, if you get a chance. I thought it looked like the pulley you bought in 2013 was the wrong one.

Re: 250 P/S help

I will try to remember to post pics tomorrow. Also, the pump that came with the brackets I bought used a press on pulley. I bought a reman pump from NAPA and it used a bolt on pulley, so I had to get s different pulley anyway.

Re: 250 P/S help

Here are a few pics of my set up. Notice the offset of the pulley. I also used a double groove alternator pulley.

Re: 250 P/S help

I wanted to report back. This pulley worked with the brackets I had installed in the picture - http://www.ebay.com/itm/271974107973 GM#3770509, 38809 from Classic Performance, or as listed on eBay 8948b or other places as an 8948.

The pulley ends up lined up with the 2nd position on the damper, water pump and alternator pulley.

The other eBay pulley I listed looked like it would have lined up with the 1st position on the other pulleys, except it dragged on one of the bolts where the bracket attaches to the pump.

Thanks for this, and yes I see, those are my brackets, that looks like my pump... it’s making sense now when you said offset pulley that the new pulley sets closer to the ps pump than the original pulley. So I assume a double groove pulley on the water pump, double groove alternator pulley, and that cvf ps offset pulley should correct my issue as well being we are using the same setup. Thanks again for this man, with it being so close to finished I’ve been losing sleep over little things like this lol, so this is very helpful 🤘

Re: 250 P/S help

Glad to help. Just FYI the pumps are all the same as far as shaft length, the differences are in the reservoir - oval or "square" can, and the shaft - bolt on or press on pulley.
