Is this routed correctly?

I am talking about the turn signal harness for the tilt column. It doesn't look right and I can't find any posts about the correct routing of this harness.

As long as the wires aren't pinched it should be ok.

I wouldn't route them they way you did. Mine are routed up through the steering column hole behind the instrument cluster

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Hi kwmech, what do you mean by "steering column hole"? I didn't see any hole to run it through.

HO455- the truck is a '68 but the tilt column is a 71 or 72, can't remember which year. It's a true truck tilt though.

Thanks Andy, it is a little snug on the wires between those two metal pieces so I wanted to double check. I had to put a shim there to hold them apart so the wires didn't get crushed.

X2 what hole is he speaking of. The cover runs them down to the dash then up through the dash and column as it looks like you have it ran.

I just rebuilt my column and redid the turn signal switch on my 68. Now I cant for sure say it had never been touched, but the turn signal switch was as filthy as can be, had the original red style hazard knob broken off and the original half moon connector so I would say it wouldn't be too far fetched to think it could possibly be original (car shows 57K and I have an old title from out of state that seems to support that being true mileage).

Anyhow, my wiring was routed differently then shown, in front of that blue bracket (so in between that bracket and what ends up being the back of the temperature gauge of the cluster), not behind it like you have it. Take it for what it is worth.

Also, just because I ran into this same problem and nearly stripped out my threads trying to put it all together- I see that the hole where the front of the parking brake bracket mounts doesn't line up real good and is partially obscured by the hole in the black bracket (which actually mounts to the firewall and the brake cylinder hangs off of)….get a second set of hands and have someone pull the bottom of the dash forward when you go to attach that so that everything lines up and you don't start stripping it (I must have spent an hour on that before figuring that out).

Yes the dash will move on you when all the bolts are removed. I take a punch and put in one of the bolt holes to move it around to line it back up right. It can be a pain though.

What I meant is curl the harness before the plate so it rests behind the dash. I would not pinch it between like you have it.
