Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I’ve been collecting vintage water slide decals for a long time and i also have accumulated some stickers (different from water slides). In the process of going through endless (seems like) totes I’ve been turning up a bunch of my stickers. Where to put? Oh yeah I’ve seen you guys putting them on your tool boxes. Here’s where I’m at so far. Not sure if I’ll ever put water slides on though. They are pretty old and not sure how they’ll hold up if I dip them in water.

Put wrong picture up lol … sec

I'd be interested in seeing some of your vintage water slides if you'd care to share.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

This past June, I installed a mini-split A/C in my shop. It is on a side that rain/snow falls from and was concerned about a heavy snow coming down at once and smashing the compressor/condensing unit on the wall. I built an awning to deflect the snow/rain and lag bolted it to 2 of the posts.

Good job. I was facilities mgr at a chemical plant in West Ky before I retired. I had a mini split installed for 2 offices in the summer once and come bad weather, a gutter failed and promptly flooded the outside unit. Of course it froze and rendered it useless. The guys set a bullet heater on a pallet, lifted it up and aimed it at the unit until it thawed. Then we did exactly what you did. Worked perfectly.

Did some smoking . Used all cherry wood for the smoking . All told it took 8 hours for the pork and 3 for the chicken had to use two smokers .

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

A nice day in the mid 70's here. Darn nice for this area. Grass is a little tall and still a little damp, I need to mow. Got the strip on the backside of our fence mowed, its on the small main road. Got the part of the front yard the neighbors can see mowed. Then the chute clogged up, so irritating. Unclogged, tried to disengage the brake, no can do. Mower starts fine and blades engage fine, just cant go anywhere. Let it cool down, fiddled with this and that and finally got the brake off. Fired it up, hit the button to engage the blades, wont engage. Fiddled with it for a few minutes, no luck. Drove to back of house and parked it, didnt engage the brake. All the lawn that can be seen was mowed so I called it. Sometime you gotta walk away lol.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I brought this seagull home for a friend, to install a new rod. The rod is assembled with barrel nuts in epoxy, and kep nuts to lock them in place. The rod is 12" long, and I need all but what screws into the barrel nuts. So for just in case, I secured those with pieces of plumbers tape and #10 screws. Then I decided to paint it.

That's Cool.

It reminds me of the one my Grandpa had above his garage.
It was a Man sawing wood driven by windmill power.

Cool. Man, I'd like to have one of those myself. This will fly till the wings fall off, perhaps this winter? It's going on top this 7' fence I built, finished one year ago come to think of it, almost to the day. That wasn't free, the bird on me. I painted the bottom plumbers tape with rattle can high heat Orange; and the same "junk" for a primer. Never has use for them until now.

Even the paint I did buy was cheap, <$15 Amazon, hardware a couple bucks. Thought it might be cool to make some stuff? I don't have the tools for it - pretty fine stuff, 1/8" pieces. Perhaps my jigsaw for slots, it's better than I am.

Nice job on the Fence.

And That's a great Watering hole Right There.

This is a picture below of (Close to) what my Grandpa had.
He actually made some custom versions for Neighbors in the day.

Fence is STOUT, and all but the posts redwood. All screws. But the "good neighbor" sections are uneven, for too many reasons. The prep for that job was a nightmare, too old for that *&^$.

You got that right. I'd probably lose too many finger tips, I'm not supposed to be around sharp stuff

Sounds like a neat grandpa. I never really new one, unfortunately. One drowned on a fishing trip, the other early Alzheimers. But my dad's grandpa's look cool, I'm sure his paternal on the top right was real mellow, and liberal Top left his maternal, working on a railroad.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

This is more of a what did I do for the last three weeks not on my truck post.

In 10455 easy steps I went from photo one to photos two & three.

And yes, it's as cattywompis as it looks. There is nothing square or parallel on it. The only part that is square and level is the foundation which the building doesn't fit it correctly. The back wall is about 1-1/2" too wide for the foundation. We think it was built somewhere else originally and moved to its present location.

Took the Mustang vert for a cruise today. Lunch and a 50-60 mile cruise. Was mid to upper 70's I think for the last time this fall. Soy beans are out. They are working on the corn.

Picked up the 700 Kodiak from the local after its 20 hour service. Deer hunting in a few weeks. May need it to haul the big buck out of the woods? LOL.
