Door latch

So this no longer works ---- but cant see anything broekn as such.
The part with my finger on it is what the door lock pushes by a rod to release the "latch" .....

But it does nothing.

Think I'll just order a new one --- but still - how does it actually work ?

Re: Door latch

Think I worked out the issue

The latching mechanism from the inside rod ...... had somehow floated to the wrong side of the lever mechanism for the outside lever. essentially locking everything in place.

The piece on the very righ of the pic - basically was solid and couldnt move.

well worth the $50. i put 2 new repop latches on truk 12 years ago, they never give a problem. always latch and unlatch fine. old worn latches are known to pop open at the worst times. i almost lost my little sister out the door of my panel truck on an exit ramp, i managed to grab her arm as she flailed grasping at air.

i think bearclaw latches are about the worst thing you can do to our trucks. unless you do a full custom with shaved handles. you loose the lock function and door button

Re: Door latch

They do wear out in more ways than one.
