64 C20 clutch spring length and fork pivot clip

We're moving forward and hope to get the ol' boy started this weekend.
We ordered parts from LMC to rebuild the Z bar and lower clutch linkage.
My questions are as follows,
-How long is the clutch return spring from the fork to the frame supposed to be? The one sent is straight at one end.
-As I didn't realize the clutch fork needed a clip to retain it to the pivot in the bell housing, can I remove the fork to install it without having to pull the tranny?
As always your replies and insight are greatly appreciated.

Regards,

You should be able to just pop the fork off without pulling the tranny. With no clip on, it will probably come off pretty easy
