Re: GMC instrument bezel and glovebox door complementary/contrasting color combos

The thing with '67s is the interior is painted to go with the interior trim color. So, everything matches, somewhat. '67 GMCs were painted to go with interior trim, same as the later years. GMC painted the glove box door and instrument bezel to go with the interior trim color '67-'72. The only GMCs with black dash parts have black interior trim

I liked it, too, the way it was built. But my long term plan has been to change paint color and use the saddle pieces. The long story is my '71 wrecker came with a mid-70s seat. I stole the blue seat from the white truck, dyed it black, and put a '71 Cheyenne interior in the wrecker. That seat cover was a poorly made P.O.S. from LMC. I stole the blue Custom Deluxe seat from the blue '71 SWB K/10 I had for the '72 K2500. A very comfortable seat and it looked good. I had blue bucket seats for the K/10. Then a friend really needed a Custom Deluxe seat to put a new take off Highlander cover on, so I pulled that seat and sold it to him. And that's what prompted the switch to saddle a bit sooner than I figured. The headliner is still blue because I figure the trim won't make it through a change. The top of dash is still blue, too, till the windshield comes out. I never notice it and I don't get asked about it. Kind of funny.

Re: GMC instrument bezel and glovebox door complementary/contrasting color combos

I'm always learning something new. I had absolutely no idea that colored bezels were factory on some trucks: I thought every one I'd seen was something the owner did him or herself.

Re: GMC instrument bezel and glovebox door complementary/contrasting color combos

Cool Thread, I had no idea that was done by GMC when I bought mine, so I thought a PO did that for a custom look!
Here's my '72 2500 Super Custom, Ochre & White outside, Sandlewood & Parchment inside. The dash & steering wheel are both Saddle now, not sure how I'm going to tie all that back together yet...

69 GMC 514 red paint w/618 red custom cloth interior - claimed 678 original miles. Original or not, a beautiful example and a great reference.

69 blue on blue I believe the steering wheel was swapped with a dark blue wheel at some point.

Yep looks exactly like my 71 did as well before I restored her. Wish I would have taken better before pics

me too, I dig that red interior.

I haven't been successful finding paint codes for gmc interior colors. I need to paint a new bezel dash pad and top of dash.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but since there were no other Turquoise/Red combinations I thought I would share mine.
