This was on ebay recently and I have been out of the "loop" for about 10 years.
Thanks

Wow, that looks nie! I would think it could be over 10K pretty easily. Maybe quite a bit over 10K if the bottom is as clean as the top.

Looks very nice. I would guess in the $8-12K range based on those pictures. Since I can't tell if it has any rust (doesn't look like it but ya never know) and what all has been done to the engine/drivetrain, I have to give a broad range. If you can give us more info, we can give you a better guestimate

What I am being told is there is 5k on the engine, basically stock. I know it is very strong. I have had it checked out and the only rust is a small spot on the lower inside of a door and some very slight surface rust on one of the rockers. Only problems I have found are a slight oil pan leak, the transfer case has a slight leak, the rust spot, and less than perfect body work where the gas cap was hidden. Here are a couple of pics from underneath.

Looks very nice. Did you just buy it? The rust spot you are mentioning is very common. Looks like about a 6" Lift?

Well since I lost the 2 tone one, I am still looking at this one. He is firm at $11,700 with insured delivery. Just seems a bit much. What do you experts think ?
Here is the link to the original e-bay listing http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2482137831

Personally, I think I would keep looking.

Things that stand out as a warning to me:
1. chip on door edge looks like thick bondo
2. exterior paint looks like it is newer than the interior - this says to me that the truck has been repainted several times.
3. ac and alternator are swapped.
4. the little screws on the doors are painted yellow which would make me think that someone didn't disassemble the truck before painting.
5. rust in the bottom corners of the drivers door
6. stupid "total fx" sticker in the back window (screams punk owner who would rather show off than treat their vehicle with respect)
7. it is at a dealer so you will never get the true story.

Keep in mind, I am just going by the pictures. Seeing it in person might change my mind. There are quite a few listed on collectorcartraderonline. How far are you willing to travel? What is your price range

DEPENDS ON WHAT U WANT FOR YOUR MONEY, AND HOW FAR ARE YOU
WILLING TO GO AFTER YOU GET IT, I BOUGHT ONE FOR $10,000.00 AND
IT ISN'T EVEN PAINTED OR FULLY ASSEMBLED, BUT IF YOU LOOK AT HIS
LIST OF PARTS AND HIS PIC'S YOU JUST ABOUT CAN'T COME CLOSE FOR
THAT KIND OF MONEY IF YOUR BUILDING ONE, IF YOU WANT A TURN KEY
JOB THAT IS BASICALLY FLAWLESS YOU WILL SPEND MORE THAN THAT.
THIS OF COURSE IS JUST MY OPINION AND MY $.02 WORTH. :p

Good advice.....they(dealer) don`t know much about the truck either. I will check out the site mentioned. I am in the 10k range, and due to work can`t do alot of travel. Shipping would be my best bet out of state.

Thanks guys,

Bret

There are a lot of trucks in California for sale. Don't jump on something if it doesn't feel right. If you find a truck a distance away from you, there might be a board member willing to look at it for you.

Find a Blazer Dot-Com

Half the fun is in the pursuite! Who the he!! said that anyway?
These guys are leading you in the right direction, Bouncy makes some really valid points.
Personally, I look for as stock as possible and go from there.
If you find a "built" truck it's already somebody else's idea of what it should be. Maybe not yours and maybe not right.
There's allot out there that are very clean and well built, as posted prior...take your time, it will pay off in the end.
Bummer about the two tone though, I liked that one.

You guys are the best ! I am still hoping that the buyer on the 2 tone scews up the deal. Patience has never been one of my best virtues.

I would say the 2-tone truck looked like it was built right. I don't know exactly what it is about they yellow one, but it just seems like you may get screwed.

Like VT said, I would look for one as stock as possible. A lift and tires are cheaper than trying to fix someone elses mistake or their bad bondo job. These trucks often have had a lot of owners and many things modified over the years, many times not the correct/safe way.

As far as lifts go, the yellow one has blocks. If you plan to do any real wheeling or towing, stay away from blocks. Both of my trucks have blocks, but I don't plan to do much wheeling or towing, just having fun in the sun!

If you're looking for the one in the link, it belongs to board member gmcnorton. I have not heard if it sold or not. You should contact him directly. By the way, it's dark blue.
