Frame question

Does anyone know if all the 67-72 half ton 2wd lwb frames are the same .....I am talking about the bare frame....I know there are different rear suspensions....thanks

Basic frame is but there were some that had leaf springs instead of coils.They can be swapped around with a little fab work.

67 frames have less clearance by the engine for headers.

The design of the exhaust hangers that are riveted to the frame changed a bit from year to year.

I swapped the entire front suspension from a 72 onto a 69 frame once, and some of the crossmember bolt holes didn't quite line up. Had to do some drilling to make it work.

There might be some differences from year to year where the power steering gearbox mounts.

Some frames have little cut outs, or bends, under the cab. Some frames don't.

On a leaf sprung rwd c20 you can add the coil spring upper brackets add the truck arm brackets to the rear subframe cross member and convert to coil springs

The early frames didn't have clearance for the P. S. gear box.

I've seen this mentioned before, but I am confused by it. I installed a PS gearbox from a 73-80 truck on my 67. The only thing I had to do was cut a notch in the bumper bracket.

My 67 gmc was the same. And it was the 99th built.

The holes through the radiator support brackets are smaller on 67-68, so the 69-72 support bushings don't fit.
