Oh, I get it, but also, many point at a new part that they put on an old part, and when the new part doesn't fix the problem, it is always the new part, not the part it is connected too, that has 50 years of wear.
The tank neck is just stamped metal tube. the tabs of a cap sliding on the neck wears it over time.
Yes, many aftermarket parts are trash. Know first hand all about that.
That said. You'd not put brake pads or shoes on old rotors/drums then blame the new shoes/pads.
Or a new door latch but still use the worn striker pin. and blame the latch without looking at, the other wear prone part it contacts.

No actual communication with the seller. Went to my Ebay page and clicked more options and then clicked on "I wish to return this item". Then chose item not as described and was able to print the shipping label right then.
