Re: 700R4 Transmission Cost??

A lot of guys in Texas recommend Phoenix Transmissions, just in case you go with a complete unit instead of locally rebuilding a core. I believe this is the correct place in Weatherford, TX:

The Phoenix units go between $2160 & $3000 depending on build level.

I'm into my 700R4 "stage 1" rebuild for about $1650, which includes a '92 core, a stock converter & Summit cast aluminum pan with drain plug. The auto recyclers that sold me the 700R4 core took a junk aluminum Powerglide on exchange and saved me a few bucks.
