Bench seat screws?
Sooo, I was finishing up with the rust stop application and realized I lost the 4 screws that hold the bottom and top together (see pic). Any ideas? I looked online and couldn't find any info or anybody selling them. Thanks guys.

Re: Bench seat screws?
Am I wrong in thinking that this would be a good time to change this seat so that it would tilt forward? I believe you need to take a bolt ( or two) out of each side. Is this correct?

Re: Bench seat screws?
In regards to making the seat tilt forward most upholstery kits are not designed for a tilt seat.
You would have to do some rework on the seat back upholstery. |

Re: Bench seat screws?
My thoughts were about doing this if someone had moved the tank to the rear, then you would have a little useable space behind the seat. I understand that there are also some changes that need to be done when installing new seat upholstery.

Re: Bench seat screws?
On my 1970 those screws are flat-head Phillips countersunk but with bolt threads and a pointy end - I have not seen those exact ones at any hardware store.
I find these magnetic brooms handy for finding stuff I have lost..sometimes I find things I didn't even know I'd lost.. its like the known unknowns verses the Rumsfeld unknown unknowns :-) $15 at Lowes or Home Depot - maybe cheaper at H Freight |

Re: Bench seat screws?
Well, I’ll be going to ace and try out the sizes mentioned this weekend. Also, that magnetic broom is nuts/brilliant. I was also thinking on going to a junk yard maybe... we’ll see. So odd you can’t even find rebuild kits for these bench seats, just the bottom mounts is all I see.

Re: Bench seat screws?
I found replacements at ACE Hardware. Hex not Phillips but they work. I looked at a lot of other sources and didn't find them anywhere else.
