C30 Dually LB convert to Shortbed
I have a 157 inch wheelbase chevy Cheyenne dually. I want to convert it to a shortbed stepside. Has anyone done this?
Do you have any pics, threads or any info on a transformation like this? |

I know it's been done many times. Does your truck currently have a bed?

Re: C30 Dually LB convert to Shortbed
I thought of doing it using a long stepside bed, the problem is the higher kickup in the 157" chassis. I believe its a 2" higher kick so you will have to raise your cab that amount for body lines to match up. It would be much easier with the 133" C30 chassis which shares the same amount of kick as the 115"/127" chassis.
Do you have a pic of your custom bed? Im not sure what you mean by a hole for the dually?

Re: C30 Dually LB convert to Shortbed
I agree with Blazerman. You need to find a 127' longbed frame with running gear and cut it down. Should be fairly cheap and easy score. May find someone who wants to build a C30 hauler and they would appreciate the uncut frame and running gear.

If you want a one ton frame find a longhorn frame and cut it down 18” works well. Here is a longhorn frame I cut down and then converted to a 4x4 with one ton axles out of a 81 K/30 square body
